I have stayed at the Stage Coach many times. Their renovations over the past several years have turned out great! A clean, comfortable, and very quiet place to stay.

The staff was very accommodating and friendly. We arrived during the countywide power outage and were given helpful tips to accommodate our dining needs based on areas that now had power, flashlights were offered etc. The room was nicely decorated, clean and spacious. The bed was comfortable and we would definitely stay here again during our next visit to Monterey.

First, I did not misspell "colleauges." The pulldown menu is misspelled. I was doubtful to book this place because of the price range, and knowing what a person normally gets for it. My doubts were removed just by driving by the property, which is very clean and fresh, with a recently paved/sealed parking lot and good lighting. My room was a basic king. Again, it looked freshly repainted and decorated with attractive modern furnishings and carpet. It was NOT at all the usual thing you see, which is that cheap pink/blue/white patterned bed cover and tired oak. The bathroom was also newly renovated with a new tile floor and granite counter/sink and large bathtub/shower with granite walls. Included amenities in the room are: large LCD TV, hair dryer, coffee maker, refrigerator, and even a microwave. WiFi is free. There is a small swimming pool outside which I did not use. There is an included breakfast in the office building, which I also did not take advantage of. The property was very quiet all night. It is also in a very doable walk (but not short) to the waterfront area. All in All, I would not hesitate to return to the Stage Coach. My colleague stayed at the Hyatt and paid triple the rate I paid, and got basically the same room.

I was traveling for business, and the Stage Coach Lodge fit my needs almost perfectly. The room was large and had a desk, nice bathroom, and comfortable bed. The staff member at the front desk (I don't recall her name) was incredibly friendly. The location of the hotel is great--it was right across the street from the college where I had my meeting, and it is only a short walk from the waterside, a lovely park, and the Fisherman's Wharf area. The only thing I would change is to have more options in the breakfast. They had the standard pastries and cereal, but if you need heartier food in the morning you'll need to go elsewhere (there is a fridge in the room, so I recommend doing a little grocery shopping!). All in all, the Stage Coach Lodge is a great option for traveling in Monterey.

Much nicer than I expected! So glad I opted not to share a triple or quad with my coworkers at the Hyatt for the same price!

Checked in for the night around 4pm. Easy check-in, and no issues. Friendly staff, and the guest check-in area is very well maintained. I was pleasantly surprised with the interior, because the exterior of the Stage Coach looks a little dated. I was given room 108, which is located on the 1st floor. This room sits in the corner of the L-shaped hotel facility. It's a nice room, and tucked away from any noise from the parking lot. The window actually has a nice garden view with flowers. My only complaint is that during the night, the sounds of footsteps can be heard from both wings of the hotel and converges onto room #108. These footsteps are not only from other rooms, but from the stairwells as well. I'm not sure if other rooms have this characteristic, but it seemed like it was magnified in my room specifically. My friend stayed in room #201 on the same night, and when I was in his room, I didn't hear any of the footsteps. The next morning, I had to check out by 7:30am. The registration office was locked, and there was no breakfast (I was told there would be continental breakfast available). By the time I needed to leave, I just used the night-time phone and spoke to the hotel manager letting him know I was checking out. No issues...just bummed I didn't get breakfast. Not a huge issue for me, so not a huge knock on their scores.

We read the review in the LA Times and changed our plans to check out the Stage Coach Lodge for ourselves - glad that we did. It was easy to find, no parking issues as we parked right outside our door. The staff was pleasant and over-the-top helpful. The Wharf was a bit of a walk - felt safe. The room was comfortable and included everything we needed.

Stage Coach is a cozy, small outdoor lodge convenient if you're accessing the Post Naval Graduate School right down the street. The room was clean & the surrounding area was quiet. My only complaint is that the pool area is quite small and is located right next to the street near the entrance to the parking lot, so you are exposed to all cars driving in. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay!
